Intro
This is my page for my character, Kenji Matsushita! Originally I created him as part of a fan OC project for Danganronpa, "Danganronpa: Last Act" but my love for him has outgrown one setting, and I am now working on putting him into as many universes as I can!
(That being said though, I still care deeply for Last Act and everyone else's characters too. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be so invested in Kenji in the first place. Thank you everyone from Last Act!! You all continue to inspire me with your art and characters!! ♡ )
Danganronpa: Last Act
Kenji Matsushita is a medical prodigy, finishing medical school at 17, and set to start his residency next spring. Before that though, his talents are noticed by the Hopes Peak Scholarship Program, who offer to sponsor him. Excited to follow his own research path, and more-so intriguied by the social events with other sponsored students, Kenji agrees emphatically.
Finally getting a chance to meet students like him (at least, he hopes), Kenji changes up his look trying to appear more outgoing in order to make friends. When he's invited to a ceremony for new students, he jumps at the oppurtunity. The next thing he knows, he finds himself in a mostly empty school, without any memory of how he got there or who's with him.
Despite the circumstances (including the possibility this is a killing game), Kenji is determined to make real friends after his years of isolated studying. Nothing is going to stop him! Nothing at all, because of course this isn't a real killing game, duh. That would be silly (and also an exceptionally bad look for Hopes Peak, known for, among the scholarships, letting students run killing games in the past.) No, nothing is going to get in the way of his normal school life, not the barred windows, not the locked doors, and least of all, his crush on the "Ultimate Director" Akito Sanada. Nope! He's going to play it cool through it all.
Fun Facts
- He has tattoos on his arms and hands(lateral), legs and feet(anterior), and on his back, all of the bones in their exact (more or less) location.
- The shaved parts of his hair are the sutures of the skull. His mohawk is the sagittal suture. No one but him knows this, but he thinks everyone gets it.
- His outfit is his uniform from his highschool but heavily modified. He cut the sleeves off the jacket the night before the acceptance ceremony.
- His parents are both surgeons, and are rarely home. Kenji doesn't know them too well, and his interest in medicine is mostly an excuse to let him study skeletons.
- He loves collecting gachapons and model kits. He doesn't tell anyone about the gachapons, but he tells his parents the model kits will make him a better surgeon.
- His favorite food is salmon sashimi. He gets an over-abundant allowance from his parents, and he buys sashimi for dinner a lot. Having it often doesn't make it less special for him.
Authors Note
Because Kenji was made for DR:LA, this is his base form to me. Whenever I add him to anything else, I basically reverse engineer DR Kenji. He single-handedly has the most art out of any Kenji design both because of the 5 year headstart on all other designs, and also because it's my favorite.
