Q&A!

Q: Is this all in one room?
A: Yes.

Q: How dusty does it get and how do you handle it?
A: It gets so dusty. My floor is carpeted and we have two dogs. I use makeup brushes to dust off my figures about once a month. Also, this isn't relavent to the figures but it is to me: I'm allergic to dust mites. These plushies get so dusty and I'm fighting for my life dusting them off.

Q: How do you afford this many figures?
A: I don't buy anything else. (see: games, clothes, art supplies, etc.)

Q: When did you start collecting?
A: Around my second year of highschool. I'm in my junior year of college now, so I've gotten much smarter about where to buy figures and when.

Q: Advice for starting a collection?
A: Look at second hand selling sites, and check up on myfigurecollection.net every once in a while. People on there sometimes will announce they have a figure for sale, so find the figure you want and check if anyones selling. For some of my JJBA plushies I used DePop, and for some of my persona figures I went to Mercari. Also, check out local shops! A good number of my figures have been bought from local places (mostly my One Piece figures, lol).

Q:Why collect figures?
A: I like them! I really appreciate the sculpting and artistry behind these figures, and am fascinated by the artistic integrity of mass-produced anime figures. I love tying anime figures back to ancient figurines found in homes. I love seeing how sculptors respond to figures for display from only one intended angle, and the constraints on painting and fine details. TL;DR: i just really like them. I am fully aware anime figures are a non-essential purchase, a "waste of money" if you will.
